Etihad Airways is the national carrier of the United Arab Emirates and although it was only established in 2003, it is and award winning airline. It has won awards for its cuisine in Economy class, which shows its attention to detail and is an example of its Inspired Service concept. Nothing is too small a detail where comfort is concerned. Passengers are called “guests” and the British newspaper, “The Daily Telegraph” had this to say about its economy class “passengers are called ‘guests’, an appellation that would be pretentious on an airline that did not have Etihad’s excellent service standards.” It has a cosmopolitan staff and prides itself on its attention to its guests comfort, whether they are travelling in the Diamond First Class Suite, or in Economy class. Economy class guests will readily appreciate the comfort the airline affords them and the personalized service is refreshing. The hospitality is warm and the food delicious in all classes although of course it is much better in the First and Business class areas. If you travel to Abu Dhabi in economy class you get a free luxury coach ride into the city which makes your trip that much easier. If you are travelling in the more luxurious classes then you can avail yourself of a chauffeur driven car to your destination.

The cabin crew is attentive and there is support for families with children and this includes entertainment packs for kids to keep them from being bored, if they don’t want to watch one of the many films that there are to choose from.

Etihad have recently (August 2010) signed a code-sharing agreement with the Australian-based Virgin Blue company which opened up 44 new destinations to Etihad. They already connect Europe to Asia and the Middle East, and fly to the major European cities of London, Milan, and Athens, to Brisbane Sydney and Melbourne in Australia, Toronto in Canada and Chicago and New York. There are many more destinations and if you visit the Etihad official website you can go on an interactive tour of the different cabin types.

Etihad won the award of “World’s Leading Airline” in 2009 organized by the World Travel Awards, and has won others in its short lifetime. Its mission is to act as a hub between East and West and display the best of Arabian hospitality to its guests. Certainly a flight on one of Etihad’s planes will be memorable in terms of the warm courtesy of the cabin crew and ground staff, as every employee wants guests to have as comfortable and pleasant flight as possible.

If you are thinking of traveling to the Middle East, then you should consider flying with Etihad, or take advantage of its services on a different flight route.
