This wonderful country is the largest archipelagic state on earth. It has 17508 beautiful islands. This is the fourth populous country and third biggest democracy of the world. It is a perfect place to spend your holidays in the lap of wonderful nature. There are huge mountains especially volcanoes, amazing beaches, dense forests and stunning natural beauty. It depicts the culture and traditions of Asia. Its magnificent temples, huge mosques, landscape and museums draw the attention of the tourists. There are many marvelous Indonesian Tourist Attractions.
Jakarta
It is the biggest city and the capital of Indonesia. It has skyscrapers and well preserved rich cultural heritage. The best time to visit Jakarta is in its dry season (from May to September). The national Monument known as Monas has great attraction for the tourists. It was constructed during the Sukarno era. It is 37-metre tall marble structure topped with 35 kg of gold. It is open for the public and the lift can carry the tourists to the top. There is a historical museum and a hall for meditations in the base.
Istiqlal mosque is the biggest mosque in Southeast Asia and second largest mosque in the world. It took 17 years to build this mosque. The splendid view of the walls and the dome is visible from far away.
Jakarta is also famous for its orchard gardens mostly located in Slipi and Taman Mini.
Pulau Seribu is a set of island in the Jakarta Bay. This area has amazingly beautiful beaches with coconut palm. The flowing water is best for scuba divers.
The national Museum of Indonesia has largest collection of Indonesian artifacts.
Sumatra Island
It is some of the most travelled tourist destinations in Indonesia full of recreational activities. It has splendid sunny beaches, beautiful rivers and great flora and fauna. It has also been called “Africa of Asia” due to its richest wildlife. The best time to visit this marvelous site is in September and October. There are some of the main attractions for the visitors.
Medan is the capital of this wonderful island and a gateway to explore this marvelous island. The major attractions are Istana Maimoon, Bukit Barisan Military Museum, Raya Mosque and the Museum of North Sumatra.
Berastagi is a beautiful town located in Karo highlands almost 70 km from Medan. The town is well-known for its fruits, vegetables, flowers and two volcanoes ( Gunung Sinabung and Gunung Sibayak). The Lake Toba, Danau Ranau and Aceh are the other sightseeing places of the island.
Bali Indonesia
It has been truely regarded as a paradise on earth. It is famous for its sandy and sunny beaches, tropical jungles full of wildlife, active volcanoes and recreational festivals round the year. It has great conditions for snoekeling, Scuba diving, hiking and above all swimming. The best time to visit this stunning site is from May to August.
Denpasar is the capital of beautiful Bali and has community temples known as “Pura”. The worth seeing places are Celuk, Ubud and Bedulu.
There are many other great attractions for the tourists including Sanur Beach, Kuta Beach, Nusa Dua, Klungkun and Menjangan Island.
The other major attractions for tourists in Indonesia are Lombok, Sulawesi Island, Band Island and Yogakartas.
